Valsad Raktdan Kendra is committed to strengthening HIV/AIDS prevention, care, and awareness across the community, with a focused approach toward High-Risk Behaviour Groups. Our mission is to ensure that vulnerable populations receive accurate information on HIV prevention, have easy access to protective measures, and benefit from regular health check-ups and counselling services. Through these efforts, we strive to enhance the quality of life of individuals living with HIV/AIDS while empowering them to overcome stigma, discrimination, and social inequalities.
Our Awareness Activities

Currently, Valsad Raktdan Kendra operates three Targeted Intervention (TI) Projects focusing on Commercial Sex Workers (CSW), Men Who Have Sex with Men (MSM), and Single Migrant populations in the districts of Valsad, Navsari, and Vapi.
These initiatives are implemented in collaboration with the National AIDS Control Organization (NACO) and the Gujarat State AIDS Control Society (GSACS), Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, ensuring standardized, high-quality services aligned with national HIV/AIDS prevention goals.
Through our integrated TI model, we continue to work towards reducing new HIV infections, promoting safer communities, and supporting individuals to lead healthier, dignified lives.

Medical check-up camps
- organized health camps for KP groups at clinics and community locations.
- provided guidance on Blood Group, Blood Pressure, HIV, RPR and TB screening.
- conducted counseling on regular testing, early diagnosis and preventive practices.
- routine medical screening of KPs including HIV, RPR, BP, TB (4S Screening), etc.
District-level coordination (DAPCU) Meetings
- participated in district coordination meetings with TI, ICTC and TB departments.
- reviewed project performance and shared 100% target achievements.
- planned Integrated Health Camps in high-risk areas to improve outreach.
- strengthened interdepartmental collaboration for better health outcomes.
Intensified IEC campaigns in educational institutes
- conducted awareness sessions in ITI colleges, polytechnic colleges and schools.
- educated students on HIV/AIDS, Syphilis, STIs, Hepatitis B/C and Non-Communicable Diseases.
- distributed IEC material and promoted safe health practices.
- engaged hundreds of students through interactive sessions with faculty and ICTC staff.
HIV and STI awareness for women students
- organized special awareness programmers for female trainees at women’s ITI institutes.
- provided information on HIV/AIDS, TB, Hepatitis B/C and Syphilis, and prevention methods.
- guided students on available treatment facilities at government health centres.
- TI staff, counselors and ORWs facilitated the sessions.
School and college outreach programs
- conducted structured IEC activities in high schools and technical institutes.
- covered topics related to sexual health, STI prevention, safe behavior and hygiene.
- ensured active participation of teachers, PHC staff and NGO team.
Hepatitis vaccination awareness and coordination
- organized meetings to spread awareness on Hepatitis B and C prevention and vaccination.
- explained transmission, symptoms and the importance of routine screening.
- all KP groups were encouraged to undergo regular Hepatitis, HIV and RPR testing.
- peer Educators trained to deliver Hepatitis awareness at field level.
World AIDS day activities
- conducted district-level awareness rallies in collaboration with nursing students and health departments.
- organized seminars to provide complete information on HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment.
- held candlelight tribute programmes to honour individuals lost to HIV/AIDS.
- promoted compassion, sensitivity and stigma-free behaviour towards PLHIV.
Targeted intervention – Community outreach
- continuous outreach for High-Risk Groups (FSW and MSM) under NACO and GSACS guidelines.

World hepatitis day – Health awareness and screening
- organized health screening camps in community areas with support from mobile health units.
- screened HRG individuals for HIV, RPR, Sugar, HB, BP, and Hepatitis B/C.
- provided IEC sessions on HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis, STIs, TB and condom use.
- encouraged quarterly medical check-ups and biannual HIV/STI testing
